Creating and Scheduling a Report

You can run a variety of reports in Sentinel FM. These reports give you insight into information collected by your fleet, which can help you make better decisions and address issues quickly and efficiently.

There are currently over 60 reports in Sentinel FM that serve a variety of customer needs, such as winter operations, hours of service, fleet usage, speeding, and more. Note that not all reports are available by default. Some reports are not applicable to all customers, while others are paid features.

Reports can be scheduled to run at regular intervals, and can also be sent to an email address. Here’s how:

  1. In the top menu, click Reports. Note the Standard Reports (shown by default) and Extended Reports tabs. Extended reports typically include specialized reports, or reports specifically designed for your organization.
  2. From the Report drop-down in the appropriate tab (Standard Reports/Extended Reports), select the report you wish to generate.
  3. Now, configure the report as desired. Available configuration options will vary based on the purpose of the report, but most reports require a date range, group of vehicles, and export format (PDF, Excel, Word, etc.).
Note: Due to the very large number of available reports, this tutorial will not describe each possible configuration option.

Once the report is configured, you can click Preview to view the report in your browser window.

Alternatively, click Schedule Report to generate the report. Set the following options:

  1. Generate the report Once, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Selecting either Weekly or Monthly displays a drop-down menu to specify the day of the week or month to run the report.
  2. Select whether to email the report or save it locally on your computer. If you select To Email, enter one or more recipients in the Email text box.
  3. In the Start field, enter the day to generate the first report. By default, this is the current date.
  4. In the End field (not available when generating the report Once), enter the day on which to stop generating this recurring report. Note that this field is mandatory – reports cannot be scheduled to run perpetually.
