SD 4.5.4 for iOS

Sentinel Drive version 4.5.4 for iOS is now available. This release includes improved time selection when editing log events, improved protection against accidental editing of automatically-recorded driving legs, and various bug fixes and performance improvements.

Features available to all customers

IMPROVED TIME SELECTION

Be precise to the minute.

We’ve updated the time selector in the HOS log event edit screen to allow editing time precisely to the minute. Previously, it was only possible to adjust time in 15-minute intervals.

New to Sentinel Drive 4.5.4, a native iOS time picker will appear when editing the event time. This gives a more familiar feel for iOS users.

In addition, we have removed the +/- buttons after hearing our customer feedback, which should help make time editing more intuitive.

IMPROVED LOG EDITING: LOCKED ECM EVENTS

Make sure you remain HOS compliant.

We’ve updated the HOS log event list to lock automatically-generated events from the ECM. This will help your drivers avoid a common source of violations.

Here’s how the new HOS log event list behaves when editing:

  • Unlocked events are unchanged and can be edited normally.
  • Locked events have a lock icon next to the duty status and are greyed out, allowing them to be easily identified.
  • Locked events cannot be edited.

IMPROVED LOG EDITING: CHECKING EDITS OF ECM DRIVE DURATION

Keep your driving duration compliant.

We’ve added some checking so that drivers can no longer edit an event that shortens ECM driving duration. This ensures your drivers are HOS compliant and protects against a common source of HOS log violations.

If drivers attempt to save an event, the save will be stopped and a dialog (shown to the right) will be displayed.

Note that editing manually-entered driving events still works the same as before.

NOTABLE IMPROVEMENTS AND BUG FIXES

Making your experience better.

  • Saving log events should work better now, particularly the first time an event is saved.
  • A bug related to saving comments has been fixed.
  • After tapping the help icon, help images are no longer cut off.
  • Sentinel Drive now works better on many IPv6+NAT64 networks.
  • A bug affecting location services permissions on some devices has been fixed.
