History Tool

This tool reports a vehicle’s historical details including speed, direction, status of sensors and outputs, and much more. You can also play back records as the vehicle icon moves between points on the WFC map.

If you need to search historical activity for multiple vehicles, use the Search Vehicle History (Query) & Playback tool.


Data Retention: Advanced Reports and Queries (including vehicle History) can access up to 15 months of historical data. If you require access to information older than 15 months, please contact your Webtech Account Representative.


To retrieve historical records for a vehicle:

  1. Select a time period to examine in the Time & Resources pane.
  2. Click the icon of the vehicle you’re interested in on the WFC map.
    The vehicle balloon appears.
  3. Click the History icon: map history balloon tool icon
    Records sent from the vehicle during the selected time period appear as red dots on the map, forming a trail to show where the vehicle traveled. The Vehicle History grid below the map contains a row for each record.

A The vehicle icon is shown at the location where the first record was sent.

B Click a dot to display a balloon with details for a particular record.

C Click a row in the data grid to zoom in the map on a record and display a balloon with details.

To show, hide, or re-order columns in the Vehicle History:

map grid column picker icon Click the Columns icon in the Toolbar under the Vehicle History.

Use the Select Columns pop-up to choose information to display and sort the columns.

Tips

To view the historical data records in an Excel spreadsheet:
Click Download List.

To sort the vehicle list:
Hover over the column heading to want to sort by, click the downward triangle beside the name, then choose Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.

To play back historical vehicle activity in the WFC map:

 Click Playback..

E Click the Play button in the History Data Player.

Vehicle icons move along a path matching historical data points.

F Select Breadcrumb Trails from the Options menu to display a trail of dots representing the records transmitted as the vehicle moved.

G Hover your mouse over a breadcrumb to display vehicle status information from the time the record was generated.

Tips

You may need to adjust the zoom or pan the map to follow the path of the vehicle.

To remove Breadcrumb Trails from the map and return the data grid to Vehicle Status display, click the “X” on the right side of the Vehicle History pane to close it.
